FOODCoST presents synergies with other EU-founded projects and initiatives that are focused on the same or related areas. The expertise and results developed in the context of these projects will bring knowledge and other benefits to the FOODCoST Project.

Related Initiatives

SUSTCERT4BIOBASED

SUSTCERT4BIOBASED aims at assessing and promoting the adoption of sustainability certification schemes and labels for industrial biobased systems to support tracing the sustainability of the products along the EU and international value chains and trades.

Related Initiatives

FLINT

FLINT developed a data infrastructure for the agri-food sector and policymakers to provide up-to-date information on farm-level indicators on sustainability and other relevant issues. The approach explicitly considered the heterogeneity of the farming sector in the EU and its member states. Based on these insights, FOODCoST will assess to what extent and how data on farm level can be collected, stored and updated to be used to calculate externalities (WP1).

Internet of Food and Farm 2020 (IoF 2020)

The internet of things (IoT) has revolutionary potential. A smart web of sensors, actuators, cameras, robots, drones and other connected devices allows for unprecedented levels of control and automated decision-making in many areas. IoF2020 explores the potential of IoT-technologies for the European food and farming industry. Based on these insights, FOODCoST will assess to what extent and how data on farm level can be collected, stored and updated to be used to calculate externalities (WP1).

Related Initiatives

COMFOCUS

COMFOCUS aims to develop choice experiments on foods and elaborate standards for the data related to food consumption for a better understanding of consumers' behaviour, thanks to an experimental economic laboratory. The recommendations of COMFOCUS will be the starting point for the FOODCoST Data Management Plan (WP8).

Related Initiatives

FOODE

FOODE aims to accelerate the growth of sustainable and resilient City and Region Food Systems by bringing together citizen-led food initiatives across the EU, while developing a methodological framework for case studies sustainability assessment and developing competencies to be used in the INTEGRATED FOODCoST toolbox for IMPACT analysis (WP6).

Related Initiatives

REFRESH

REFRESH aims to develop behavioural economics knowledge related to food waste and food systems sustainability by integrating LCA and LCC approaches to analyse the food supply chain while representing a relevant methodological basis for the development and analysis of scenarios in FOODCoST's WP6.

Related Initiatives

Co-Fresh

The main objective of CO-FRESH is to (re)design and pilot innovative systemic approaches for fruit and vegetables. The outputs of this project related to the identification of sustainably-oriented value chains and business models to monetise or create value from supply chain innovations will be useful for FOODCoST. In addition, outputs also will include LCS and SLCA, which can inform Case Studies.

Operating in the field of bioeconomy, these 3 European Projects focus on the transition towards a sustainable future through a multi-actor approach that was applied among relevant stakeholders. MMLs workshops have also been organised. Both the competences acquired by APRE and the network created will be exploited in FOODCoST (WP4).
